Law is an advanced course designed for 18–24-year-olds with a strong interest in understanding the intricacies of the legal system. Students will delve into the role of the European Court of Justice, the relationship between legal systems, and how laws shape our thoughts, actions, and society. The course will cover complex topics such as the harmonisation of national laws and key legal concepts on both a national and international level. Students will also critically analyse a variety of legal sources, exploring the evolution and application of law in different global contexts. With expert guidance, students will gain a deep understanding of legal frameworks and the broader social, economic, and political implications of the law. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, making learning both engaging and relevant. The course also includes a masterclass on legal analysis and critical thinking, along with a reflection session to track progress and set new goals.
Teaching methodology
Learn the Oxford way with tutorial-style teaching. Your expert tutor will foster self-directed learning and critical thinking through interactive seminars in small groups (no bigger than 8). During your course, you will complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets), which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor and learn new perspectives from your classmates. On completion of the course, you'll receive a certificate and letter of recommendation from your tutor.

To be eligible, applicants should:
- Be between 18-24 years old.
- Have a sufficient understanding of English to participate in academic discussions and coursework.
- By the time the course starts, students must have completed at least the second year of an undergraduate qualification (or equivalent).
Note: If you do not meet these requirements, you may still apply for one of our non-advanced Law courses in Oxford, which do not require the completion of the second year of an undergraduate qualification.

At ǶƵ, we understand that students aged 18-24 have different needs in terms of safeguarding. All staff are enhanced DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding policies. We maintain 24/7 on-site security, but with more independence allowed for this age group. Our policies are focused on ensuring safety while encouraging personal responsibility and autonomy.
